Danish photographer Søren Solkær's "SURFACE" street art photography exhibition now showing in London

30 October 2025

After 20+ years photographing music and film icons, Søren Solkær turned to street art pioneers. SURFACE captures a three-year journey across the creative locations of the street art scene like Los Angeles, Miami, Sydney, or Amsterdam, showcasing over 80 leading street artists worldwide.

Nanda\Hobbs hosted the world premiere of Søren Solkær's exhibition SURFACE in 2015 along with the launch of the book of the same title. The exhibition then toured to Shepard Fairey’s gallery in Los Angeles, New York, LA, Vancouver, Munich, Amsterdam, Maastricht, Aalborg and Copenhagen.

Now, ten years on and the tenth stop of the world tour, SURFACE is showing in London—the city many of the artist subjects live, work and were photographed. Housed in the former Christie’s building in South Kensington, London, 500 sqm of portraits of the world’s leading street artists are shown over two floors, several rooms. There are 70+ large cinematic works blending storytelling, dramatic lighting and urban art
