now representing: Suzanne Archer

27 July 2023

We're thrilled to welcome Suzanne Archer to Nanda\Hobbs as a represented artist. Archer is an intriguing artist with a multidisciplinary approach. Her vigorously conceptual paintings weave deep, personal belief systems into landscapes.

Recognised as one of Australia’s foremost artists, Archer’s work is housed in major collections, including the National Gallery of Australia, the National Gallery of Victoria, the Art Gallery of New South Wales, as well as significant regional and tertiary institutions. Her unique vision is shaped by her extensive travels and residences around the world, as well as her ongoing and profound connection to the Australian landscape.

Archer’s richly layered paintings and sculptures are steeped in the history and tradition of artmaking, yet exude a thoroughly contemporary edge. They move beyond the mere representational experience—rather enveloping the viewer in an introspective and immersive world.

Suzanne Archer will form part of our presentation at Sydney Contemporary in September, as well as our solo exhibition program for 2024.
