Nanda\Hobbs artist Mehwish Iqbal is exhibiting at acclaimed New York gallery, HG Contemporary until April 2. Mind, Body, State opens on 7 March, coinciding with the opening of The Armory Show, NYC's premier art fair.
Mind, Body, State has been developed over a period of three years, in conjunction with the artist's active engagement with women and children from refugee and migrant communities across Australia essentially influencing her art practice and thinking around the notion of home and belonging and mass migration globally. On a deep level the works also excavate her personal journey, childhood experiences, abstract layers of memory, dislocation, loss of family members and a constant shift of mind, body, state through alien landscapes.
HG Contemporary was founded by Philippe Hoerle-Guggenheim in 2014 and has gallery spaces in New York, Madrid, Napa Valley and Brooklyn.
We look forward to exhibiting Mehwish Iqbal's work in a solo show at Nanda\Hobbs in November.
